CovenantCord Terms of Service

1. ABOUT COVENANTCORD

CovenantCord is a faith-based matrimonial matchmaking platform designed to connect God-fearing singles seeking a committed life partner. CovenantCord is operated by Risewithmeg.com. These Terms govern your access to and use of the CovenantCord website, mobile app, and PWA collectively.

2. ELIGIBILITY

To use CovenantCord you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be legally single (never married, divorced, widowed, or legally separated)
• Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
• Not have been previously banned from CovenantCord
• Not be a convicted sex offender or have a history of violent criminal offenses
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement

By registering, you confirm that you meet all of the above requirements.

3. YOUR ACCOUNT

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You may not share your account with anyone or create multiple accounts. You are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us immediately at lovecovenantcord@gmail.com.

4. PROFILE ACCURACY

You agree that all information in your profile, including your name, photos, location, occupation, relationship status, and intentions, is truthful and current. You will update your profile promptly if your circumstances change. Profiles found to contain false or misleading information will be removed without refund.

5. REFERENCES

You agree to provide two personal references as part of your registration. You confirm that:

• Your references are real people who know you personally
• You have their permission to submit their contact information
• The information you provide for each reference is accurate
• You have not submitted yourself, an acquaintance, or a romantic partner as a reference

CovenantCord will contact your references by email and/or SMS. Reference information is kept strictly confidential and is never shown to other members.

6. BACKGROUND CHECK

You authorize CovenantCord to conduct or request a background check as a condition of full membership. This check may include criminal history, sex offender registry screening, and identity verification. You understand that:

• Providing false information for your background check is a serious violation of these Terms
• CovenantCord reserves the right to deny or revoke membership based on background check results
• All background check data is encrypted and handled in compliance with applicable privacy laws
• You may appeal a denial in writing within 30 days

7. SUBSCRIPTION AND PAYMENTS

CovenantCord offers free and paid subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid plan you agree that:

• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You may cancel at any time through your Settings page
• Refunds are not issued for partial billing periods except where required by law
• CovenantCord reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days advance notice

8. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree NOT to use CovenantCord to:

• Harass, threaten, or intimidate any member
• Send unsolicited promotional messages or spam
• Solicit money from other members under any circumstances
• Impersonate another person or create a false identity
• Scrape, copy, or extract member data
• Upload malicious software or interfere with the Platform
• Use the Platform for anything other than finding a sincere life partner

9. CONTENT YOU SUBMIT

You own the content you post on CovenantCord. By posting content, including photos, videos, voice notes, bio text, and messages, you grant CovenantCord a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display that content for the purposes of operating the Platform. You confirm that you have the right to post all content you submit and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

CovenantCord reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or the Community Faith Code of Conduct.

10. PRIVACY

Your privacy is important to us. Our full Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data. Key points:

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties
• Your background check data and reference information are encrypted and access-restricted
• You may request a copy of your data or delete your account at any time from Settings
• We comply with applicable data protection laws including HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA

11. SAFETY DISCLAIMER

CovenantCord takes safety seriously through profile verification, reference checks, and background screening. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of every member's representations or the safety of every interaction. You agree that:

• You use CovenantCord at your own risk
• CovenantCord is not responsible for the conduct of its members on or off the Platform
• You will exercise your own judgment and caution when interacting with other members
• You will always meet new connections for the first time in safe, public settings

12. TERMINATION

CovenantCord reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account at any time for violations of these Terms or the Community Faith Code of Conduct, without notice and without refund. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your profile will be removed from public view within 24 hours and your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CovenantCord shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to damages from interactions with other members. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to CovenantCord in the 3 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you by email and in-app notification. Your continued use of CovenantCord after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must delete your account.

15. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Maryland, except where prohibited by law.
